Original Vanna lineup plays “Curses” for 15 year reunion
New England based band Inspirit made up of the entire original line up of the band Vanna, performed their 2007 debut album titled “Curses” in its entirety in Providence RI this October for the releases 15 year birthday. For anyone that’s been around the New England heavy music scene in the past 20 years or so the shows entire line up was quite nostalgic consisting of Too Late The Hero, Lions Lions, and A Loss For Words. Every band sounded incredible and fans were moshing, crowd surfing and singing along to their local favorite all night.
Inspirit formed back in 2020 with their first single release titled “Fold” coming out almost exactly 2 years ago. While original Vanna members Shawn and Nicholas were still in the band through out their last album “All Hell” which released in 2016, the other members Brandonand Evan went on to start and join other projects over the years while Chris took a hiatus from music. I don’t think any of us fans expected the original members of one of New Engalnd’s favorite hardcore bands to get back together after spending so much time apart but in my opinion it’s exactly what we needed.
I’ve been fortunate enough to see Vanna perform live countless times and now after seeing Inspirit perform 3 times at the time of this blog I can say that if you were ever a fan of Vanna, you’ll be a fan of Inspirit. While their original music may be different it feels like the band picked up exactly where they left off with their new material and even sprinkle in some songs you’ll be familiar with. Be sure to follow Inspirit on their social media accounts to find out when they’ll be playing near you!
